Philosophy and Uncommon Sense V2.0

It's a quite stressful week for me so I thought I just post what's on my mind about our real world out there and see what our other readers outside Malaysia think about us.

I'm presently reading "Voltaire's Bastard" by John Saul a book written more than 10 years ago but remains as relevant then as today. Will post some quotes/comments from there in due time.

And now back to what's happening here in Malaysia over the past few weeks:

i) A murder involving a Mongolian citizen involving some individual in high places
ii) Government spending more money probably as a way to enrich many other selected people
iii) Local government officers who are above the law despite being responsible for upholding the law
iv) Higher highway toll rates to comply with the concession agreement
v) Higher cost of living due to spillover effect from oil prices

Looks like only bad news makes it to the Press, oh I forgot, our fellow country woman, was crown world squash champion last weekend..there's some good news!

Back to point on higher toll rates, it always defies me why the Government cannot renegotiate the terms of the contract to save the general public money since these are hard times. In Malaysia as most people know, everything is negotiable particularly if you are the Government!

Maybe someone out there benefits from it....? Makes "uncommon sense"?

Also talking about newspapers and watching TV, does anyone there share my view that TV and newspaper in general today are not worth even 5 minutes of your time?

Rulers Conference

Three Rajah Brooke's Birdwing seen having a conference.
Wonder what they would be discussing.

Weather Pattern

It has been consistently like this in Kuala Lumpur for the past 3-4 weeks; Burning hot in the morning and thunderstorm in the afternoon. The weather changes rapidly and from a good vantage point, it looks like an invading army sweeping across the landscape.

Here's one taken just 2 days back... and another one is brewing right now.

The road we travel

All of us have our own roads to travel.
Sometimes, the path is lonely and we have to amuse ourselves and encourage ourselves.
Sometimes, our path takes us to bustling busy places and we have company for a while.
Sometimes, our path takes us to dangerous places and we have to tread carefully lest we stumble and fall.
Sometimes, our path is shrouded in mist and we can't see the way ahead and wonder if we are still on the right path.
Sometimes, when we are undecided which fork in the road to take, we find a secret garden between the forks where we may tarry awhile.
Sometimes, along the way, we find our path merging with another's and we have a travel companion for a while.
Sooner or later, the paths will diverge again and we part ways.
Wish each other well and a safe journey.
Do not throw stones onto another's path ... making another's journey difficult will not make our own easier.
